No reason to fear | Back to articles | Articles sitemap |

No matter where we are, no matter who might be in our company, no matter what time of the day or night it is, there is never any reason for us to fear because our trust is in God and He is our protector and deliverer! “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) Now the fear I'm talking about here is not the kind when you're startled, like when someone hides and jumps out to scare you. I'm talking about the lies, manipulations, distortions and suggestions of the Devil.

Fear is not even ours for the taking because it was not given unto us in the first place. Fear is perverted faith or the opposite of faith. It is trust in Satan's ability to destroy or harm. Fear is actually sin because it works against the laws of faith. Fear does not come from God, it is a demonic spiritual force that attempts to build a stronghold in your mind through distortions of God's Word and reality. It’s crucial however that we all understand that Satan has no creative power in him whatsoever. Satan is not God and he never will be, he is a fallen angel. Satan’s power comes from the perversion, distortion or manipulation of God’s laws. Really, all Satan can do is make suggestions. It's the power we unleash through our words and actions that enables him to bring forth destruction. Satan could not do a thing if mankind didn't help him do it.

It’s also very important that we understand that fear will stop faith from working. Fear tolerated, is Faith contaminated. You cannot mix faith with fear and still have a successful outcome. Fear also comes in forms that many of us don’t even realize. Anxiety, worry or concern, timidity, apprehension, and intimidation just to name a few, are all fear-based feelings.  When fear, for whatever reason, begins to show up you have to take immediate action and begin to declare the Word of God over your situation. It is as straightforward as that. Resist the devil by using God's Word in faith! "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7) Resist the spirit of fear (using God's Word) and it MUST go!
