Let God take over | Back to articles | Articles sitemap |

As we know, life has its ups, and it has its downs too. Many of us today however seem like we are more down then anything. The pressures of life sometimes seem to build up until we feel like we just can’t take it anymore. Things like financial problems, relationship trouble, lack of time, and the fast pace of life can send us into stress overload.

Well I say its time to turn things around! I want to enjoy a life of abundance and stay happy, don’t you? First of all we must understand one thing, that we have an enemy. I have said it many times before and I will say it again: Satan is out there looking for ways to steal from you, to destroy your life, and if he can, kill you. Satan is relentless and you must understand that he and his demons are watching you and I twenty-four hours a day waiting for an opportunity to disrupt our lives.

He is like a roaring lion seeking whom he might devour. Satan wants to keep us stressed out, he wants us to be depressed and under all kinds of burdens. He wants us to be miserable.   He wants us to have doubts about Jesus, God and Christianity. When our lives are in shambles we are vulnerable. Satan doesn’t just want to bring you down, he wants to stamp you out, but we are not going to let that happen!

Satan hates all of mankind. He hates us because God loves us! Understand that God loves you infinitely! God loves you more then you know, and no matter what you’ve done, or who you are He loves you, understand that. God is always looking for a chance to bless us and help us in our lives. What some don’t understand however is that God will not bless us if we refuse Him. God will not take away our troubles if we don’t allow Him to. God will not force anything upon us; we must always make a choice as to what we want first.

So what things stop God from blessing us? Unbelief and sin will stop God from functioning in our lives like He wants too. Satan loves sin. He loves it because he knows it separates you from God. When you sin you are serving Satan making him your master, not God. We must eliminate sin from our lives. If you want to live in total happiness and have an abundant life, I will tell you that it will not happen while you continue to live in sin. Remember that sin destroys us. “The wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23)

Today I urge you to take the first step in pursuing happiness and prosperity by giving control of your life over to God. Don’t you agree that God knows best? After all He created everything in existence, do you not believe He can handle one single life? Putting God in control of your life will be one of the best things you have ever done. God knows everything, and when we align our lives with His perfect will, our potential in life then becomes maximized. When you put God in control of your life, cast the whole of your care upon Him: all of your anxieties, all of your worries, all of your concerns, once and for all, because He cares for you affectionately, and cares about you watchfully.

Once control is given to God, why “something” happens, how you will do “this” and how you will do “that” becomes irrelevant. It doesn’t matter because God will take care of it, assuming your life is right with Him. Matthew 6:32-34 confirms this: "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles[heathen] seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself." Put God in control of your life and seek His kingdom first. Making God your first priority will make you His first priority.

Now letting God take over does not leave you without any responsibility, understand that. Responsibility and patience are still needed on your part. Remember that God will not do things like you might have, and sometimes it can take time for His full plan to be revealed. Be assured however His plan for your life will be better then anything you might have came up with on your own. Your faith must also be active, for without faith how will you believe that God is in control in the first place. Not only that, but faith will be needed when Satan attacks, and he will. Satan will attack you, but by God’s Word and Jesus' death, burial and resurrection the devil has already been defeated. We do not have to re-defeat Satan, we only have to resist him.

Understand that some things don't happen immediately; it takes time for certain things to manifest. Many times when people pray and they don’t receive immediate results they assume either God doesn’t hear them, or He doesn’t want that thing for them. Many times this is not the case, but it is Satan, the liar, who wants you to lose faith and start acting in fear. If he can get you to act in fear and pull away from faith, you are again separating yourself from God.

Philippians 4:6 says this: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” In other words: “don’t trouble yourself or have any anxiety about anything. As long as you are troubled, anxious or worried, praying and fasting will do no good in bringing deliverance from your burdens. Let your requests be known to God by prayer with thanksgiving (while walking in faith!)”. Again fear will stop your faith from working. When your faith stops working, God is not pleased. You cannot please God without faith. (See Heb 11:6)

I invite you now to pray this prayer and turn your life over to God allowing Him to prosper you and keep you from danger throughout the rest of your life!

Father I come to you in the name of Jesus:
I now place my self this day, spirit, mind, will, emotions, and body, into your powerful hands. I give myself totally to you. All of my health, all of my life, I commit it to you. Let it be known to all of heaven, and to all of the angels of God, and to all of hell that this day I put my life in your capable hands. Lord Jesus you are the high priest over my life. I place the life of my family in your care. I place my finances in your care and I refuse to pick up the care of any of these things ever again.
In Jesus’ name,

If you have prayed that prayer and stay obedient to God expect some great things in your life!  We do not have to sit around letting Satan get the best of us. “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7) We can purpose every day to refuse Satan; to not let our happiness be stolen from us. Even in the midst of what looks like the worst hold your head high and say “God is in control of my life!” Whenever the devil comes along wanting you to be depressed about something, rebuke him, and refuse to be depressed. Purpose and strive to be happy in all things. I pray for all of you whose eyes come across these words, that you will allow God to take command of your life so that you may be blessed the way he wants you to.

Finally remember: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof." (Psalms 46:1-3)
