Satan's plan: Deception and destruction

Satan has one objective and one objective only: To kill, to steal, to destroy, and to bring as many people down to hell with him as he possibly can. Firstly, Satan has been around for a very long time, since before the Garden of Eden. He will use everything in his arsenal to try and bring your life to an end before and even after you accept Jesus. He will try to tempt you with every imaginable evil thing, hoping that you'll rebel against God. Some tricks of Satan are obvious, but many are subtle. So why have we added a section about Satan's plan? So you can resist him! You don't have to defeat him because Jesus has already done so!

We must remember that Satan has absolutely no creative power in him whatsoever. Satan is a fallen angel; he is not God or equal with God. Satan cannot create new laws; he can only function by the manipulation, perversion, and distortion of God's laws. Understanding that Satan cannot create his own laws is crucial. This is because if Satan cannot create his own laws, that means he is carrying out his killing, stealing, and destruction by some other means. What are they? The answer is by the power of the tongue, and sin.

Satan very much desires the use of men's (and women's) mouths. If we accept Jesus, follow God's Word, and eliminate the negativity in our speech, Satan has little room to act! The Bible says: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof (for death or life). (Proverbs 18:21) By our mouths, through the creative power that God has given us, (for we were created in his image) is what Satan manipulates and functions by. For the Devil to actively function in our lives he needs us to either confess negativity with our mouth, or to operate in sin. What we say out of our mouths means a lot; it truly does matter! We have the power by our words through the name of Jesus Christ to bring many things to pass! God has given us that power!

Satan will first plant a thought in your mind. A lot of non-Christians cannot decipher between God's thoughts and Satan's lies. This is because Satan can operate in the suggestive realm. Whatever does not contribute to your thoughts in a righteous manner is from Satan. Thoughts of suicide, evil, deceit, lying and sexual perversions are all examples of thoughts from Satan. The best time to stop Satan is as soon as an evil thought comes to your mind. That's when you rebuke him and tell Satan to shut up in the name of Jesus!

The Bible says: "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought into the obedience of Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5) Don't sit there are play with the ideas in your head! Don't keep thinking and dwelling on them. Thoughts may come and persist in staying, but thoughts not put into words or actions die unborn.

Satan will put all kinds of thoughts and ideas in your mind: thoughts of failure, depression, anger, loneliness, and fear, just to name a few. He wants you to confess with your mouth what he is putting in your mind. For example, say you have the thought: "Oh I hate my job, I know I'm going to have a bad day today." Then, because we as humans have been taught to function in negativity, you say that out your mouth! At that very moment, when you confess it, Satan then has the power to move because you have given him that power. Have you ever heard: "My back is killing me", or "You almost gave me a heart attack!" or how about "I just can't do it!" When you say those things, don't be surprised when they happen.

Now it’s also important to know that we have been given the authority through Christ to to cancel our words also. If you say something out of your mouth realizing it was an evil communication, declare: "I cancel those words in the name of Jesus."  This way, the authority that was given to those words, will be stripped away.

Living in sin will also make us an easy target for Satan. This is because the wages of sin is death. Sin makes us extremely vulnerable to Satan's attacks. In contrast to that, the wages of obedience to God is everlasting life! Also here on earth, the longer we stay obedient to God's word, the longer we will live. Drugs, alcohol, sexual sins, sex before marriage, adultery, fornication, lying, stealing, murder, deceit, pornography, fear/worry, and hatred are all example of sins that will keep us separated from God. We can keep ourselves from sin by renewing own mind with God's Word.

God's Word cannot fail. Jesus said: "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (Money, therefore greed, therefore Satan)." (Matthew 6:24) It's absolutely crucial for us to live holy unto God; pleasing in every way.

Take caution: Satan is here to steal from you, and to destroy everything you have worked for. You might not give him room to act anymore, but he still exists in the lives of many others. Now however, because you are functioning by God's word, you are no easy target! You have the power to send Satan and his demons fleeing from you so fast, you'd think they were in a race!  They are in a race indeed. one they have already lost.

Finally, remember Satan and his demons can ONLY be defeated by the Word of God. Don't make the mistake of trying to fight him by yourself in the natural realm. Satan fears God's Word.  He does not fear you alone.  He fears the name "Jesus." Use God's Word (scriptures) against him. Use God's Word to its full extent. Fight the good fight of faith today! By God's Word, you will be successful! "Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)
